Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT-Tapping)
Emotional Freedom Techniques, often referred to as EFT or Tapping is a research-based therapy that uses a combination of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern-day energy psychology that brings understanding and relief from an issue.
According to EFT founder Gary Craig, “The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.” Negative emotions are deeply intertwined with our stress response. Our emotions are both the clue to and the consequence of an often unconsciously repressed memory causing instability in our energy system.
When we are triggered by a negative perception of a person, place, or event the stress hormone cortisol floods our body. Over time, the more we are stirred or triggered the more cortisol flows through our body and sets us up for health challenges. By tapping on specific meridian endpoints while tuning into the issue we seek relief from, will not only bring balance to our cortisol levels but releases the trigger bringing emotional freedom from what once stirred us.
